This site (http://www.erinthead.com and http://www.politicalypso.com) does not collect personally identifiable information about users, aside from that required for the functionality of the e-mail system. The web server of the host does collect and aggregate general statistical data about site usage. I, the webmaster of this site, do not own the host machine and cannot control what data is collected for these statistical reports. The reports are viewable only by me and do not contain any personally identifying information about visitors' computers. Information viewable in the report includes aggregate data about the operating systems and web browsers most commonly used by visitors, the IP addresses currently assigned to visitors' computers at the time of the visit, and any referring information such as a web search that led to this site. This system does not use illicit means or security exploits in order to obtain information; the information collected is automatically created with simple Internet usage.
With only two exceptions, I, the webmaster and site owner, will not disclose ANY information about visitors to this site to third parties. The exceptions are if I am served a legally valid warrant for such information or if I suspect that the web site is being attacked or abused and I wish to begin an investigation into the matter with my host. I will not sell any information or otherwise make it available to entities that would use it for commercial or solicitation purposes.
The WordPress-based blog, located at PolitiCalypso.com, erinthead.com/blog, blog.erinthead.com, or politicalypso.erinthead.com, uses cookies for the purpose of saving information about your visit if you make a comment on the blog. Nothing else is done with this information, but if you wish, this feature can be blocked or disabled in your web browser with no adverse effects to the functionality of this website.
PHPFormMail is a PHP script that accepts information from the form on this page and generates an e-mail message to the Webmaster. This information includes any information provided by the user on this form, the user's IP address and host name, the user's browser, and a timestamp representing the date and time that the message was sent. The IP address and timestamp are needed in case anyone misuses the form to send mass e-mails, obscene e-mails, messages appearing to be from someone else, or any other form of abuse. No other information is collected by this program, and the information that is collected will not be used for any purpose except private communication with the sender and the aforementioned legal matters, if applicable.
